Hi! We're WaystoCap a Y Combinator startup backed by a top tier VC: Battery Ventures; and we are building the future trading platform of B2B in Africa. We are on a mission to unlock trade in Africa, by creating transparency and trust in international trade.

Our headquarters are in: Morocco with offices in Côte D'Ivoire, Benin, Burkina Faso, Togo, the UK and Spain too!

We are growing fast , and we are looking for a country manager for our office in Ouagadougou.

We do more than just a listing or marketplace site, and help our buyers and sellers go through the entire trade process more easily, efficiently, and improved with technology.

We want every African business to be able to trade internationally, just like any company and take advantage of cutting edge tech to solve payments, logistics, and most importantly trust issues. In our first year of full operations (2017) we already grew 300%, and the sky is the limit!

Your challenge as a country manager:

The role will require someone who is both familiar with local culture but also understands the transformational nature of WaystoCap and the positive impact it can have on the local, regional and continent’s business community. You will be our main point of contact locally and also manage customer support/feedback, carry out marketing initiatives and represent WaystoCap in policy discussions.

This is a role for someone looking for a new challenge, in an exciting start-up with the goal to transform the way to commerce is done across the continent; and you’ll have the resources at your disposal to do it.


  • Manage all operational aspects of the office in Ouagadougou
  • Prepare Business Plan on business design, structure, process and operating plan and financial model to accomplish subsidiary objectives
  • Strategize and plan the sales process management, forecasting, pricing, key account management, expenses, profitability, new product development, market research and brand strategy
  • Responsible for Marketing and Sales and works to achieve top line market share and achieve revenue and brand objectives
  • Coordinate, prepare and launch new products for the assigned markets
  • Builds company image by collaborating with customers, government, community organizations, and employees; enforcing ethical business practices.
  • Manage partners and local hires, and have an eye for BD opportunities

Candidate requirements

  • Data-driven decision mentality and sound business judgment through strong analytical thinking
  • Creative solutions driven mindset, with a get stuff done attitude
  • Relevant experience in management consulting / e-commerce / banking
  • French and English fluency required
  • Stellar networking skills and the ability to make smart partnerships happen
  • Entrepreneurial
  • Good working knowledge of software

  • Knowledge of international commerce
  • Leadership/Managerial Skills
